Liverpool have the chance to bring in some new faces before the end of the transfer window

Liverpool have until the end of the January transfer window on Monday 2nd February to bring in some new players. They also have the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door as well this winter. That would help free up space and funds in their squad.

The Reds are sat in 4th place in the Premier League table after 21 fixtures. They are inside the top four along with Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa above Brentford in 5th. The Merseyside giants are back in action this weekend with a home clash against Burnley.

Fabrizio Romano shares significant update regarding ex-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Real Madrid ‘will consider’ Liverpool icon Jurgen Klopp for their managerial position if he decides to return to coaching, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The German has been linked with a surprise switch to La Liga. It remains to be seen at this stage whether he would be interested in a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Reporter Romano has shared this update regarding Klopp’s immediate situation on his YouTube channel: “Many of you are asking about Jurgen Klopp, also because of rumours last night from Germany. The answers I’m getting from this, he’s really appreciated internally by Real Madrid by some people.

“But the same people say it must start from Jurgen Klopp. It’s not going to be Real Madrid asking Klopp ‘would you like to return to management’. This is not Real Madrid style. They will only consider Jurgen Klopp in the summer IF Arbeloa goes – and that’s not guaranteed. If he decides to return to coaching, Madrid will consider him. This is something that must be started by Klopp, so let’s see what he decides to do for his future.”

Real Madrid currently have ex-Liverpool player Alvaro Arbeloa in caretaker charge. He has been named as their interim boss following Xabi Alonso’s exit. They will be weighing up their options at this moment in time as they look to bring in the right candidate.

What now for former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp

It is yet to be known whether Klopp will jump back into the dugout. He revealed his desire to take a break following his departure from Liverpool in 2024. Arne Slot was subsequently appointed as his replacement and he managed to win the title at the first time of asking.

It will be interesting to see if the opportunity to manage a team the size of Real Madrid turns Klopp’s head. He has never managed in Spain before and that could be something that interests in. Prior to his move to the Reds, he worked in his native Germany at Borussia Dortmund and worked wonders at Signal Iduna-Park.

Liverpool fans will be keeping a close eye on developments. It isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that they could line up against Klopp in Europe down the line if he does opt to get back into the game. For now though, he will be mulling over what to do next.
