Liam Rosenior will take charge of his first Premier League game as Chelsea head coach when his side host Brentford in a west London derby on Saturday.
The ex-Hull City boss oversaw a 5-1 win over Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup in his first game in charge, before a 3-2 defeat against Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday night.
The Bees currently sit two places ahead of Chelsea in the Premier League table, and Keith Andrews’ side will likely provide a stern test for Rosenior’s team on Saturday.
Ahead of the game, though, it has emerged that the Blues are one of two huge Premier League sides chasing a Serie A goalkeeper.
According to CaughtOffside, both Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in Roma ‘keeper Mile Svilar.
The report claims that the two English sides have both been monitoring the Serbian, who has made one senior appearance for his country.

Svilar, 26, joined Roma from Portuguese side Benfica back in 2022 and has since made more than 110 appearances for the Italian outfit across all competitions.
The Serb has kept 41 clean sheets in that time, as well as conceding 108 goals for Roma.
Despite both the Blues and the Red Devils having monitored the player, he is under contract in the Italian capital until the end of the 2029/30 season and the Serie A giants are therefore under very little pressure to sell him any time soon.
It is claimed, however, that Svilar could be valued at around £52 million, which would make him one of the most expensive goalkeepers in football history.
While Chelsea are said to be keen on the idea of signing a new goalkeeper amid Robert Sanchez’s poor run of form, the report suggests that a January move to sign the player is very unlikely and a deal could be more achievable in the summer.
