Liverpool transfer news as Kostas Tsimikas’ future at AS Roma continues to come under speculation.

Liverpool are open to terminating a deal for one of their loan players, it has been suggested.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, AS Roma are hoping to end their agreement with Kostas Tsimikas. The left-back has struggled to make an impact in the Eternal City and he has made only four Serie A starts so far. He was an unused substitute in Roma’s 3-2 defeat by Torino in the Coppa Italia earlier this week.

Gazzetta dello Sport (via Roma Press) claims that I Giallorossi are searching for a new left-back in the January transfer window but would first need to end Tsimikas’ loan. It’s said that Liverpool would be open to doing that, with Tsimikas receiving several interest from clubs.

One of those is claimed to be Olympiacos, the club that Tsimikas left to join Liverpool for around £12 million in 2020. Olympiacos are top of Greek table and still have an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase play-offs.

It was recently suggested that two Premier League clubs would be open to signing Tsimikas for the second half of the season. The 29-year-old attracted interest from Nottingham Forest and Leeds United during the summer transfer window.

Tsimikas has one year remaining on his Liverpool deal. The arrival of Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth for £40 million pushed Tsimikas to third choice, with veteran Andy Robertson now serving as deputy.
