The new Chelsea defender links continue to gather pace this morning, as there have been some more reports in the media which have claimed that Chelsea have made contact with Rennes over a possible deal for Jeremy Jacquet.
Across Premier League matches, the Blues have been prone to individual errors, poor organisation at the back and a lack of clean sheets — evidenced by repeated defensive mistakes leading to opposition shots and goals.
Frequent changes to the back four — with different centre-back combinations in most games — have prevented the defence from building cohesion and understanding. Stability at centre-back is crucial in the Premier League; without it Chelsea have conceded goals from set-pieces, breakdowns in structure and transitional moments where the team loses its shape.
Injuries have played a significant role in CHELSEA’s defensive woes, but Even when fit, the squad has been juggling fitness issues and rotation, often forcing less experienced players into high-pressure roles without consistent partners.
That has led to many reports in the media which have claimed that Chelsea want to keep on adding to that back-line, and now reports have claimed that Jacquet is a player that is now wanted at Stamford Bridge.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Chelsea have made contact over a possible deal for the talented defender, as they seek to beat off the attentions of Arsenal for the lad.
