The two Premier League heavyweights meet once more in a clash between two head coaches with contrasting fortunes. Pep Guardiola is trying to put the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the table and the six-time title winner in England has seen just about everything there is to see in football.

The 198th Manchester Derby is set for Saturday, January 17, with kick-off at 12.30pm. The clash will take place at Old Trafford, where Manchester United will play host to their local rivals, Manchester City.

Michael Carrick steps up
This match marks Carrick's second debut as United's interim head coach, having been appointed until the end of the 2025/26 season.
It's a significant challenge for the former midfielder, who won 13 matches against City during his playing days.

United are set to welcome back Amad and Bryan Mbeumo from Africa Cup of Nations duty, significantly bolstering their attacking options.
However, they'll be without Shea Lacey due to suspension and Noussair Mazraoui, who remains at the tournament for the final.
Guardiola heads across the city with a weakened defence as Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and John Stones are all ruled out through injury.
This could pave the way for another appearance by 20-year-old academy graduate Max Alleyne, who has recently been promoted to the senior squad.
City's January acquisition, Semenyo, is poised for his maiden derby following his goal against Newcastle, but Omar Marmoush remains unavailable due to a reported knee problem picked up at AFCON.
They are also carefully assessing the fitness of Savinho and Oscar Bobb, who have both been sidelined of late.
