Key man: Bukayo Saka will hope to guide Arsenal to victory over Nottingham Forest

The Gunners travel to the City Ground on Saturday evening hoping to extend their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Manager Mikel Arteta is expected to again go strong, having named an experienced team for Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg tie against Chelsea, which Arsenal won 3-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Arteta on Friday morning confirmed that his side picked up no fresh injuries against Chelsea.

He was then asked whether there was a chance that any of the injured quartet of Piero Hincapie, Riccardo Calafiori, Cristhian Mosquera or Max Dowman could be in line to return to the squad at Forest.

“There might be, so I need to meet now with the medical staff,” Arteta replied. “We have a training session now [Friday] and we will see if somebody is available for the weekend.”

Arteta was unwilling to divulge exactly who may be in a position to return on Saturday.

There are options for Arsenal on the left wing, where Arteta could select Leandro Trossard or the in-form Gabriel Martinelli, who scored a hat-trick last weekend in the 4-1 FA Cup win at Portsmouth.

Arteta could select Jurrien Timber at right-back or has the option to use him on the left instead of Myles Lewis-Skelly and pick Ben White at right-back.
