Liverpool predicted starting line-up vs Burnley - six changes but 'below best' star keeps his place

Liverpool team predicted to face Burnley in the Premier League at Anfield.

Liverpool look to extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches when they welcome Burnley to Anfield (15.00 GMT).

The Reds have somewhat recovered from their woeful run of form earlier this campaign, although improvements are still required. While Liverpool have improved defensively, their creativity in the final third has dropped. Head coach Arne Slot has admitted that he’s been unhappy with the number of chances that his side have engineered of late. And while the Reds earned a 4-1 win over Barnsley in the FA Cup third round earlier this week, they were not entirely convincing.

Liverpool have had issues with breaking down low blocks throughout the season. They’ll expect to face similar tactics against lowly Burnley.

The Reds head into the clash without Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni (both knee) and Alexander Isak (broken leg). Ahead of the game, here’s the Liverpool team predicted.

GK - Alisson Becker

Was given a breather against Barnsley, which was understandable, and will be back between the posts.

RB - Jeremie Frimpong

The Netherlands international has made a good impact since recovering from a hamstring issue and scored against Barnsley. There is an argument Frimpong has been better in a more advanced role but Bradley's injury means that he's now chiefly regraded as a full-back.

CB - Ibrahima Konate

Came off the bench for the final 30 minutes against Barnsley and he should benefit from the rest.

CB - Virgil van Dijk

The skipper will have to ensure that Liverpool give Burnley no chances to and ensure that his team-mates are playing at the right tempo.

LB - Milos Kerkez

The £40 million summer signing from Bournemouth has been impressive defensively but he will be expected to make consistent contributions on the front foot.

CM - Ryan Gravenberch

Only came on for the final 18 minutes against Barnsley and he's another who will reap the rewards of a break.

CM - Curtis Jones

The homegrown midfielder has become an instrumental figure in the engine room over the last couple of months.

RW - Dominik Szoboszlai

The Hungary captain has had to operate in a variety of roles this season. Szoboszlai may have to feature on the right flank but is likely to be tactically flexible.

AM - Alexis Mac Allister

The Argentine has been well below his best this season but his quick, first-time passes could help break the low block that Liverpool face.

LW - Florian Wirtz

Showed his quality when recording a goal and assist off the bench against Barnsley. Wirtz will almost certainly be back and these are the sort of games he was purchased for - to pick the lock against teams sitting deep.

ST - Hugo Ekitike

Made a goalscoring return from injury against Barnsley. Liverpool will have to be cautious with Ekitike given that Isak will be unavailable for a couple more months.

Mamardashvili, Gomez, Robertson, Ramsay, Endo, Nyoni, Gakpo, Chiesa, Ngumoha.
