We’ve reached the halfway point of the 2025-26 season, and the Hornets sit with a cool 15 wins. It’s not great, but it’s better than where they’ve been in recent years. And the arrow is definitely pointing up. They’re 2-1 to start this road trip, and the two wins are by a combined 73 points. A few narrow losses are the only thing separating the Hornets from an actual good record in recent weeks.

Up next is a Warriors team that poses the third straight difficult road challenge to the Hornets. They haven’t had the season they were hoping for, but like the Hornets, it’s trending the right way. They’ve gone 10-4 since a three game losing streak in mid-December. Stephen Curry has led the team in scoring almost every game and is playing like he’s still in his prime. Jimmy Butler is really the only other prominent scoring threat. He’s pretty much a lock to score somewhere in the low 20s every game. Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody can do some catch and shoot stuff as well.

One game after being subjected to the antics of Luka Doncic and LeBron James, we get to enjoy the sights and sounds of a basketball game played by Draymond Green. He’s not the whiner of the other two, but he has his own way of being tremendously annoying to watch. He seems to always find a way to make a big play at a timely moment.

It’s unfortunate that Seth Curry is out with a back injury. It’d be really fun to watch Dell call a game in which both of his sons are on the floor at the same time for the same team. But alas, we’ll probably never get that.

The Hornets have been one of the hottest offensive teams in the league the last few weeks. They’ll need to stay hot to keep pace with a Warriors team that makes more threes than anyone else in the league. LaMelo Ball and Kon Knueppel have done their part more often than not. Miles Bridges keeping up the momentum from Thursday and Brandon Miller joining the party would be a really nice boost.
