Liam Rosenior takes charge of his first Premier League game as Chelsea boss this afternoon for the visit of Brentford.
The new Blues head coach is two games into his tenure, easing to victory over Charlton in the FA Cup before Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg defeat to Arsenal.
Rosenior has talked a good game since arriving to replace Enzo Maresca but now must jolt Chelsea’s league campaign back into life, sat in eighth place ahead of kick-off.
Brentford soared into fifth place with victory over Sunderland last time out with Keith Andrews’ side out to secure European qualification themselves this term.

Chelsea team news today

Chelsea hope to have Cole Palmer and Reece James available today.
The Blues duo have missed both of Liam Rosenior’s first two games in charge at Stamford Bridge, ruled out of the FA Cup third round win over Charlton before also sitting out of the Carabao Cup showdown with Arsenal.
Palmer has been dealing with a chronic groin issue for much of the season but that was not the reason behind his latest absences having picked up a minor thigh strain.
Both he and James returned to training on Thursday.
