Manchester United player ratings: Three 'brilliant' 8/10s and five 7/10s in emphatic derby win…

Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes and Hary Maguire shone as Manchester United produced a complete performance to defeat Man City 2-0 in the Premier League. Michael Carrick made five changes to his starting line up with Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko among those dropped to the bench.

United started the better side and went close to an early lead when Harry Maguire headed against the bar from close range as both teams contributed to a frantic start. Patrick Dorgu forced a good stop from Donnarumma and Amad saw a goal ruled out for offside as the home side enjoyed the better of the first-half.

City almost scored from a rare chance when Max Alleyne saw a header stopped on the line, while Antoine Semenyo curled an effort just wide of the post. United started bright after the break and should have taken the lead when Casemiro was twice denied by a superb Donnarumma double save.

The City goalkeeper made another good stop to deny Mbeumo from close range but he stood no chance when the Cameroon forward fired into the bottom corner after an electric counter-attack to give United a deserved lead. United continued to dominate proceedings and doubled their lead when Patrick Dorgu swept in at the back-post after an excellent cross from Matheus Cunha.

Here is how we rated the United players at Old Trafford.

Conceded a cheap corner and then made a huge stop to deny Alleyne to redeem himself. He wasn't tested much otherwise.
