Liverpool endured another frustrating afternoon as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Anfield by struggling Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday. Florian Wirtz put the Reds in front after Dominik Szoboszlai blazed his penalty over, but a brief lapse allowed Marcus Edwards to snatch a second-half equaliser, despite Liverpool dominating both possession and opportunities.

The outcome leaves Arne Slot's team unbeaten in 12 matches across all competitions and still within the top four, despite drawing their last four fixtures. Here, Express Sport assess the performance of the Liverpool players...

Alisson Becker 6

A bit reckless with distribution at times before the interval but made a good save to prevent Konate from scoring an own goal. Somewhat exposed for Burnley's equaliser, though.

Jeremie Frimpong 7

Generated chances with his speed down the right and had one shot on target blocked in the first half. His crosses caused issues but he had some defensive problems after the break.

Ibrahima Konate 7

Handled Broja well and managed to deliver a few good probing passes, and was in the right place to stop a Burnley tap-in in the second half.

Virgil van Dijk 6

Spent most of the first half in Burnley's territory, looking to set the pace and his long ball to Ekitike led to the opener, but there were moments of discomfort after the break.

Milos Kerkez 7

Made early inroads down the left, which set the tone for a very industrious first-half performance, but faded somewhat afterwards. Received a yellow card and was substituted.

Ryan Gravenberch 6

Saw plenty of the ball and demonstrated good energy to move into favourable positions before the break, only to be among several players whose performance dipped after half-time. Substituted.

Curtis Jones 6

After a slightly shaky start, he contributed good pressing and linked well through midfield before providing a clever assist for the opening goal. Less influential in the second half. Substituted.

Florian Wirtz 8

Starting ostensibly on the right, he popped up in various positions with creative touches and one long-range shot saved before scoring the first goal. Denied by Dubravka again in the second half and his impressive trickery deserved more reward.

Dominik Szoboszlai 6

Started strongly but seemed somewhat affected by hitting the crossbar with his penalty. The second half saw too many incorrect decisions, presumably from trying a bit too hard.

Cody Gakpo 7

Among those denied by Dubravka and his clever footwork won the penalty. Won several corners and had shots on target in the second half. Substituted.

Hugo Ekitike 7

Quickly adapted to the packed Burnley defence and his good control and willingness to run made him influential in the build-up to the opener. Almost got a touch on Jones' cross in the second half.

Rio Ngumoha (for Gakpo 79) 6

Added pace to the left flank and delivered one dangerous cross.

Andy Robertson (for Kerkez 79) 6

Another substitution to inject energy on the left.

Alexis Mac Allister (for Gravenberch 79) 6

Missed the target with his first touch.

Federico Chiesa (for Jones 87).

Unable to make an impact
