Manchester City loanee Divin Mubama was stretchered off and transported to hospital by ambulance during Stoke City's Saturday afternoon fixture against Queens Park Rangers. The forward has been in impressive form since arriving at Stoke on loan from City over the summer.
Mubama, who has contributed five goals and an assist this season, was spearheading Stoke's attack but was substituted with a serious injury in the second half. The incident occurred following a challenge involving QPR's Jimmy Dunne, who lunged into a tackle with the 21-year-old striker.
Mubama instantly appeared to be in agony, with Stoke's medical team rushing onto the field to attend to the England youth international. Moments later, a stretcher was brought out, with Mubama lifted and carried from the pitch to applause from supporters.
BBC Radio 5 Live reporter, Sanny Rudravajhala, wrote on X: "Serious injury to Man City loanee Divin Mubama at Stoke City. Horrible challenge by QPR's Jimmy Dunne. Mubama distressed, stretchered off and receiving significant medical treatment."
Mubama, who switched from West Ham United to City in 2024, established himself in the FA Cup for the Blues last campaign.
The youngster scored in City's emphatic 8-0 triumph over Salford City at the start of January, and subsequently made his Premier League debut against Ipswich Town later that month.
Following his debut goal, City manager Pep Guardiola said: "His movements are unbelievable. The way he moves in right tempo, the way he presses.
"The movement for the first goal is perfectly as a striker, it looks easy but how he made the one counter movement against the defender... It's really, really good! I'm really pleased for many positive things."

Mubama follows in the footsteps of Liam Delap, who also made his first loan move from City's academy to lead the line for Stoke, although he scored just three goals in 22 games in the Championship.
The Stoke Sentinel's Potters reporter Pete Smith has recently heaped praise on Mubama and the impact he has had at the bet365 Stadium.
He said: "First of all, it looks like he’s enjoying himself. He’s getting a real taste of action and the manager has kept faith in him as he’s been learning.
"And you can see he’s learning. His hold up play, movement and positioning are progressing and we were saying last week that he just needed to add a bit of ruthlessness – although that is obviously such a big thing. Then he went and scored a hat-trick against Bristol City.
"There’s a sense that he’s a striker that can go on a bit of a streak when his tail is up and he has conviction in his shooting. Stoke are hoping so."
