After witnessing that uninspired Liverpool performance, Steven Gerrard addresses the question on everybody’s lips, regarding Arne Slot.
That match will do the Dutchman no favours in his attempts to win back support.
It wasn’t a shock given how these games have caused problems this season, but Liverpool’s woeful display against Burnley does put him back in the hotseat.

Gerrard was there after the game to share his thoughts on both the game and the future of Slot at Liverpool.
Steven Gerrard on Arne Slot after unacceptable Burnley display
Slot didn’t make any adjustments until the 78th minute, despite Liverpool stagnating well before then.
Regardless of who was on the pitch, or the fact that Dominik Szoboszlai missed a penalty, it’s a game they should have won.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Gerrard remarked: “Well that won’t be acceptable, a draw with Burnley at home, with all due respect. And I’m critical of the Liverpool team even though they are on a better run in terms of unbeaten games.

“The draws to Leeds and Burnley at home, you know and I know, that’s not acceptable. There will be a lot of criticism that comes the manager’s way again.”
Despite Gerrard condemning the result, his words that followed suggest he still thinks Slot is the man for the job.

He continues: “But, give the manager credit. The last time we spoke about this, you asked if the team was in a crisis, and I said that I didn’t think it was a crisis because I felt like this manager was capable of making things better and steadying the ship.
“He has moved the team from the middle of the table up back into the Champions League positions, and I think that will be a priority for him and the team, minimum top four. But that won’t take away from the criticism that will come his way.”
Next few weeks will determine Arne Slot’s future
The sharks are circling when it comes to Slot and his position at Anfield.
Gerrard doesn’t think this result will be the end of him, but surely the next few games need to be different.

Liverpool have two Champions League outings to get through in January, and they must get past Brighton in the FA Cup.
Top four is a sobering, but realistic aim. More dropped points and even that could become uncertain.
Slot won’t lose his job over this draw against Burnley, but it certainly ramps up the pressure on him for the next few weeks.
