It was an afternoon to remember for the Reds.
It is always important to build momentum and confidence across all levels of a football club.
This afternoon, Liverpool’s first-team face off against Burnley, looking to make their way back into the top four after Manchester United’s derby win put them above Liverpool before kick-off.
Liverpool are currently on an 11 game unbeaten run, but six wins and five draws demonstrates the Reds’ frustration in breaking down low blocks at times.
Burnley will be no different.
The Clarets started the game in 19th place, and they will no doubt aim to sit back and defend for the majority of the game.
Liverpool will have to find a way to get through that.
Whilst the first-team are playing at Anfield, it was the Liverpool U21s that will surely record the biggest win on the day for the club.
The U21s have beaten Arsenal U21s 7-0 at Kirkby in what has been a brilliant afternoon for the youngsters.
Kieran Morrison scored a hat-trick and Will Wright scored his first goal for the club after signing in the summer and recently overcomign a long-term injury.
Tommy Pilling, Amara Nallo and Keyrol Figueroa also found their way onto the score-sheet.
Morrison made his debut for the first-team, starting at Anfield against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
Nallo has also featured for the first-team, but on both occasions he’s entered the pitch, he’s been sent off.
Pilling and Figueroa are yet to make an appearance for the first-team.
Figueroa has majorly impressed this season for Liverpool as the American striker scored his 11th goal in 12 Premier League 2 games.
Will Wright made his debut for Liverpool in a pre-season game against Athletic Bilbao.
Lots of exciting young talent in the academy coming through at the moment.
