Liverpool continued their apathetic unbeaten run as they recorded a disappointing 1-1 draw against Burnley on Saturday.
The Reds have now drawn four consecutive Premier League matches, and although it is 13 games since they suffered defeat, things are simply not good enough.
Saturday’s stalemate came against a side second bottom in the division at the start of play, and one virtually certain to be playing in the Championship next season.

Sadly, second-rate performances against lowly Premier League teams has become a feature of Liverpool this season, especially in front of a home crowd at Anfield.
Remarkably, the draw with Burnley meant the Reds have now failed to beat each of the three newly-promoted teams on home turf this season. Impressively, that secured Arne Slot one of the most unwanted records during his time at the club so far.
From the second Marcus Edwards flashed home a low drive which perhaps should not have beaten Alisson Becker, Liverpool looked like they simply had no answer.
There were some close calls and some decent bits of play, but the Reds were never going to get the three points.

The eventual draw led to boos around Anfield, and part of the reason for that is a result of what preceded Saturday’s game.
As part of their recent undefeated run, Liverpool have also drawn Anfield clashes against Sunderland and Leeds United.
As BBC Sport point out, that means the Reds have failed to win against the division’s newcomers for the first time ever in the Premier League. It has happened before, remarkably, but not since the days of the old First Division in 1981.

Liverpool going nowhere fast under Arne Slot
While Slot racked up some brilliant positive records during his debut season with Liverpool, this term has been the exact opposite.
Things have taken a huge turn for the worse, and their failure to beat any of Leeds, Sunderland or Burnley at Anfield is a handy way of summing up the whole campaign.
One result such as this would be disappointing in a season for the Reds, but three is absolutely unforgivable.
There is a real feeling amongst Liverpool supporters that Slot is not long for the sack at Anfield. He could hang on until the end of the season, but it is clear that the team is going nowhere fast under his leadership.
Days like this should not be happening with such frequency, and while the players harbour so much of the blame as well, the buck stops with the manager.
