The former Liverpool midfielder and his family have been enjoying a busy few years, balancing professional football with parenthood.

The big reveal came on January 17, when Alex and his partner, former Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, confirmed the birth of their second child.
The couple already share a son, Axel, born in 2021. Perrie shared a black-and-white image of the newborn, revealing her name: Alanis Valentine. Friends and fellow celebrities flooded the post with congratulations.
Former bandmates Jade Thirlwall wrote, “So happy for you all And can’t wait to meet her,” while Leigh-Anne Pinnock added, “Perfect little angel.” Pixie Lott described the name as “beautiful.”
Perrie’s journey to this moment has not been without challenges. Speaking publicly last year about her earlier experiences, she said, “So I had a miscarriage very early on with my first ever pregnancy, and it was so early. I remember finding out I was pregnant. Obviously, I started bleeding not long after, and I went to the hospital and I had the scan and they were like, ‘There’s no baby’.”
She recalled the sense of isolation, adding, “I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve made this up. Maybe I got a false positive or something’. And I remember being on my own at the appointments because nobody was there.”
Reflecting on her relationship with Alex, Perrie praised his support.
“He’s very mature. He’s very laid back. He’s very level-headed. He’s not the type to get mad or get angry or get funny about things.” His calm nature clearly helped her through difficult times and made this joyous moment possible.
