Cherries ready for whatever Manchester City throw at them: Bleazard

The boss said they have been preparing for all of City’s star players, but are aware there may be some rotation.

Bournemouth will be adapting their style to suit the fixture, knowing they will likely have less of the ball than they would usually.

Bleazard explained: “I think it's one of those you recognise the team that you're playing against and there are certain things that you have to adapt to.

“But at the same time they've got a game three days after that, so they may rest players, they may go out with a full squad.

“So we're never going to know exactly who's going to play there.

“Some players that do rotate in on cup games, so we factored that into our planning, and also some younger players that they might give an opportunity to that's been in their squad.

“So there's never a guarantee that they're going to play. We've prepped as if they are, but at the same time we focus on the opposition in terms of our analysis.

“But the focus this week has been on us. We make sure that we do everything we can and focus on our strengths whilst tweaking a few things in terms of our tactics.

“But at the same time we've got a really, really good squad and hopefully they'll be able to show what they're about on Sunday.”

Asked how they best prepare for potential rotation and changes, Bleazard said they know how City will play, regardless of which players start.

“I think they've obviously got their own philosophy and how they want to play in terms of formation as well,” she said.

“So we don't think that's going to change. It might just be the personnel that changes within that. So we've prepped in the way that we have of what we believe they're going to play in.

“But again, there are some natural strengths that Bunny Shaw has, which is different to [Vivianne] Miedema, which is different to [Sydney] Lohmann in midfield.

“But at the same time we can't focus too much on that because that will just unsettle the players because we're focusing too much on the opposition.”

“Like I said, we do our analysis, we do our prep work, but it's been full focus on our team and what we can get out of this game and the strengths that our players have as individuals and as a team.”
