'I'm telling you': Richard Keys predicts Enzo Maresca will join Chelsea's rivals this week

Richard Keys is never short of a ridiculous, out-of-the-blue claim, and this weekend is no different. His latest includes Enzo Maresca, who is almost a month out of work.

Liam Rosenior is now three games into his Chelsea spell having replaced Enzo Maresca earlier this month. He secured a second win in his first Premier League game, as luck shone on Chelsea against Brentford.

Maresca will be watching on frustrated by the praise and indeed, the luck that Rosenior has had so far. On another day, Brentford could have easily beaten Chelsea had they taken their chances at Stamford Bridge.

The former Chelsea man has been loosely linked with Man United, while Real Madrid are said to have put Maresca on the list. However, according to Keys, Maresca could join another English side next week.

Enzo Maresca to replace Pep Guardiola at Man City…

After Man United easily dispatched Man City and Pep Guardiola in a shock 3-0 win on Saturday, Keys was in his element on BeIN Sports. Pausing for dramatic effect, Keys made a stunning claim about Guardiola.

Keys reckons Guardiola could decide to end his Man City stint in the coming days after the defeat to Man United, and suggested Maresca would be the man to take over from Guardiola, with Wolves up next.

“Do not rule out, and if this happens, remember where you heard this first, do not rule out him leaving this week. This week. If he goes this week, Maresca will be in charge for the match against Wolves.

“City will be apopleptic and they will deny it of course, but it is on his mind. I’m telling you, it’s on his mind to leave this week. He does this a lot, I’m not saying you can read into this, but this time you can.”

Who would you rather have as Chelsea manager right now?

Guillem Balague responds to claims about Pep Guardiola

Maresca, of course, worked at Man City under Guardiola before taking the job at Leicester City and then his move to Chelsea. If Guardiola does eventually leave Man City, Maresca seems like a possible option.

This is a manager who has guided Leicester to promotion before winning the Conference League and Club World Cup with Chelsea. Some still feel that his exit was harsh on the former Parma manager.

But it feels unlikely that Guardiola is going to leave mid-season. There is every chance he chooses to take a break in the summer, but now? It doesn’t make sense. Guillem Balague described Keys as “clueless”.

For Rosenior and Chelsea, the newly-appointed Englishman will be looking for a third win in four games when the Blues host David Luiz’s Pafos in the Champions League. Chelsea are expected to win in style.
