Chelsea aren’t just in the market for a central defender, as they’ve been credited with an interest in an attacker.
Chelsea are rather stacked in wide areas. Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho, Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens all can play out wide.
It’s a central midfielder, central defender and striker that are required.
Liam Delap, Marc Guiu and Joao Pedro are the options up top, but Chelsea are looking to loan out the Spaniard for next season.
Elsewhere, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Dario Essugo and Andrey Santos are one injury away from putting the Blues into a crisis, with Romeo Lavia still without a return date.
In defence, Jeremy Jacquet is being eyed due to Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah lacking that elite level status.

Chelsea interested in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande
Out wide is possibly the one position that Chelsea doesn’t need to make a signing in.
However, this isn’t stopping the Blues from registering an interest in one of the most exciting players in the Bundesliga, Yan Diomande.
According to Florian Plettenberg, FC Bayern are very keen on him for the summer. However, it depends on the price. Top clubs from England are also interested, including Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool.
One thing that may tilt things is the fact that Diomand has already spoken out about his dream to play for Liverpool, having grown up a fan of the Anfield club.
“I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool. I’m a big Liverpool fan. My father’s dream is to see me play for Liverpool.”
It’s also believed that he has a price tag of around £86 million (as per The Mirror).
Who has been the worst signing of the Todd Boehly era at Chelsea? 👎
Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all have to be contenders…

Yan Diomande’s comparison to Chelsea attackers
Yan Diomande is just 19 years of age, so he certainly fits the Chelsea transfer model.
His stats are made even more impressive by the number of games he’s played this season. The winger has one goal contribution less than Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez, but has played at least 10 fewer games.
Player Club Apps Goals Assists Total G+A
Yan Diomande RB Leipzig 17 7 4 11
Joao Pedro Chelsea 28 8 4 12
Enzo Fernandez Chelsea 31 8 4 12
Pedro Neto Chelsea 31 7 4 11
Alejandro Garnacho Chelsea 23 6 3 9
Chelsea’s interest isn’t new either. They have been watching Diomande since November time, and judging by his performances, they’ll have liked what they’ve seen.
However, this is the type of transfer that would potentially be done in the summer, as Chelsea may have to put aside £60 million to sign Jeremy Jacquet this month.
