Liverpool's Florian Wirtz voiced his frustration following the Reds' 1-1 draw at home against Burnley, who are battling relegation, on Saturday. Wirtz scored the opening goal for Arne Slot's team in the first half after Dominik Szoboszlai missed a penalty.
However, the Clarets fought back with Marcus Edwards levelling the score in the 65th minute before clinging on to secure a crucial point - although Scott Parker's squad still sit eight points away from safety. Liverpool, on the other hand, remain in fourth place as they aim to guarantee another season of Champions League football at Anfield.
Despite an improvement in form following a poor run that resulted in four consecutive league defeats, Slot's side have now failed to win any of their last four Premier League matches. The pressure is mounting on the head coach after Liverpool splashed out a whopping £415million in the summer.
One of those signings was Wirtz, who cost the Reds up to £116.5m from Bayer Leverkusen. The German had a slow start to his career on Merseyside, but his performance has improved recently with three goals in his last five league games.
The 22-year-old has now responded to Saturday's draw against Burnley - expressing his disappointment while issuing a rallying cry ahead of Wednesday's Champions League showdown with Marseille.
He said: "Very disappointed not going home with 3 points. Nevertheless, a big thanks to you fans, the atmosphere was great! Now focus on CL."

Slot feels that Liverpool's strides with their summer recruits are being eclipsed by their ongoing struggle to convert draws into victories.
"We all have a lot of frustration about the result and sometimes it's also a frustration for me that all the development some players are going through is not being seen, because the results don't show how the development of the team and individual players is," he said after the match.

"Milos, he had another good game. Florian scored another great goal and was involved in a lot of other moments as well.
"Jeremie Frimpong, another good game from him. A big, big, big threat on that right side.
"Results don't always reflect development and that I would almost say is another frustration because it's also hard for the players to feel we are improving and they are improving if the results are not as we want them to be.
"Of course, we can talk about 12 games in a row now without a loss but our standards are higher than not losing. Our standards are winning every game."
