According to Ernest Macia, Adam Silver met with Barcelona's representatives, Josep Cubells and Jordi Trias, with Pau Gasol also being present in the meeting.
Macia couldn't confirm exactly which details were discussed, but the report says the NBA tried to convince Barcelona to join the NBA Europe project.
Regarding Barcelona's future, the latest reports suggested that the Spanish club committed to signing a new 10-year deal with the EuroLeague.
Earlier, Barcelona had already shown strong intent to remain in the EuroLeague following productive meetings between the club's top leadership and EuroLeague executives.
In recent months, multiple reports suggested Barcelona was also considering joining the NBA Europe project.
In December, Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, confirmed the discussions with the NBA, adding that the club wanted flexibility to leave the EuroLeague even with a new commitment.

"We're trying to make EuroLeague understand that Barca is an important part of the competition, and they understand that," Laporta said in December. "We proposed the renewal with the EuroLeague, but with the option to have flexibility [to leave the EuroLeague] in case the NBA's proposal is better."
BasketNews reported on Tuesday that any shareholder who expresses a wish to leave the EuroLeague will have to pay a €10 million exit fee.
These terms will also apply to Barcelona, and they were valid under the previous agreement.
The clause allows teams to leave the EuroLeague under defined terms while paying a penalty, giving them a clear path to explore other opportunities without creating legal or financial disputes.
This could become particularly relevant in the coming years as NBA Europe is expected to start in the 2027-28 season.
Barcelona was viewed as one of the most significant potential franchises, given its global football brand and existing basketball presence.
