Tottenham Hotspur may still look to secure reinforcements with two weeks left of the transfer window

It could prove a massive fortnight on and off the pitch for Tottenham Hotspur as the pressure ramps up on head coach Thomas Frank.

The club hierarchy are reported to be giving serious consideration to the future of the Dane following Saturday’s shock 2-1 defeat at home to relegation-threatened West Ham United in north London, which saw Callum Wilson net a late winner to a chorus of boos and chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” directed at Frank from Spurs’ own fans.

If Frank is ultimately afforded any more time to turn things around, he will know that securing crucial squad reinforcements in the last two weeks of the January transfer window could provide the crucial bit of extra spark he needs to turn things around on the pitch.

Spurs have already sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace for £35million this month and spent the entirety of that income on a deal for former Chelsea star Conor Gallagher, though a lack of attacking options remains amidst injuries to the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison.

Tottenham ready £43m offer for Man City gem

According to reports from Fichajes in Spain, Spurs are targeting a major swoop for Manchester City starlet Oscar Bobb this month. The Lilywhites are ‘preparing’ a €50m (£43m) offer for the 22-year-old as per reports, after the Norwegian was pushed further down the pecking order at the Etihad by the January arrival of Antoine Semenyo.

Previously touted as a major academy prospect set to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Phil Foden and Rico Lewis into the first team, Bobb has seen injury issues in recent years and so his pathway into the City side has faded with time. Bobb has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season and registered one assist, amidst interruption by a hamstring injury which has seen him not feature since late December.

Reporting from Fichajes continues that Spurs view Bobb as a potentially ‘game-changing’ player who would be given the freedom to ‘exploit his talent’ in north London and develop into a top Premier League player in the medium term.

Pep Guardiola praises Bobb following return from long-term set-back

Speaking in August 2025, Pep Guardiola expressed his admiration for Bobb after he played the full 90 minutes in the Cityzens’ 4-0 opening-day victory at Wolves.

“Now I realise when I saw him in the first half and the second I realise how much we missed him last season,” said Guardiola. “He’s sharp and quick and like Phil [Foden] with his qualities. I’m so happy he is back. I don’t know how long it is since he played 90 minutes, maybe one year, but he is so strong, so disciplined in defensive issues, incredible threat in small spaces.

“Hopefully he can be healthy. All I ask for him is to be healthy and strong in his head and I’m pretty sure he is going to help us in that position. He is another quality player from the academy. In the last decade it has been unbelievable how many good players this club has created, there is an incredible team helping the academy and I have a feeling right now in the Elite Development Squad (EDS) there are a lot of good players.”
