Yet the images of the incident showed that it was a very tight offside call indeed.
Indeed it brought back memories of when Robert Lewandowski saw a goal ruled out against Real Sociedad because his big toenail was deemed to be offside. Barcelona also had a goal by midfielder Frenkie de Jong ruled out before half-time, while Yamal was denied a penalty right at the end of the half thanks to another offside call.
