Smith Jr. joined the Herd in this 2025-26 season. He appeared in five games, averaging 5.6 points, 6.4 boards, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 25.8 minutes.
He was particularly inconsistent, shooting just 25 percent from the field (18.2 percent from threes).
The No. 9 pick of the 2017 NBA Draft, Smith Jr. was a close friend and teammate of Luka Doncic during the 2018-19 season with the Dallas Mavericks. He suited up in five more different NBA franchises afterwards.
Smith Jr.'s last appearance in the Association was in 2023-24 as he joined the Brooklyn Nets. He appeared in 56 games, averaging 6.6 points, 3.6 assists, 2.9 boards and 1.2 steals in 18.9 minutes.
