On Sunday, the Houston Rockets superstar just surpassed Dirk Nowitzki in the NBA's all-time scoring list. Durant is now No. 6 in the leaderboard after he sank a free throw for his 17th point in the team's 119-110 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

As such, he tied Nowitzki's 31,560 points with a genuine tribute by hitting a fadeaway shot that is similar to the Dallas Mavericks icon's signature move.

Right now, Durant (31,562+) holds the most points among active players. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James sits comfortably at the top with more than 42,000 points and counting.

The four-time scoring champion is averaging 26.3 points in 51.6 percent shooting (40.4 percent from three) across 37 games this season.
