Arsenal are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table and have two weeks left to bolster Mikel Arteta's squad and give them the best chance of winning the top-flight title. Both Manchester City and Aston Villa dropped points at the weekend, while the Gunners drew with Nottingham Forest to edge a point further into the lead.

After spending around £250million in the summer, the Gunners are not expected to be too active this month, but could move if the right deal presents itself. The likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri have been linked with loan moves away from the Emirates in a search for more game time, but are yet to depart.

Arsenal 'agreement reached'

De Telegraaf claims Arsenal and Ajax have reached an agreement to regarding a loan move for Oleksandr Zinchenko. The 29-year-old has spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Nottingham Forest but has found regular game time hard to come by.

The former Man City man was deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium this summer and given the green light to move to Forest. The report claims Ajax are close to agreeing a loan deal for the Ukraine international, who is set to arrive in the Netherlands for a medical this week.

Zinchenko's deal with the Gunners expires at the end of the season and will most likely leave the club, with Dutch media claiming Ajax will look to offer him a longer deal.

Chelsea set to make £56m move for Arsenal target

Sky Sports claims Chelsea are in talks to sign Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet this month, with Arsenal also understood to be admirers of the French defender.

The Ligue 1 club have set a reported asking price of £56m for the 20-year-old defender and in talks with the Blues over a potential deal. Liam Rosenior's side are looking to add a defender to their ranks this month, while Arteta is also said to be an admirer of the defender.

However, Chelsea look set to land a huge blow by making a move for the young defender, who missed Rennes' clash with Le Havre this evening due to suspension.
