Latest transfer news and rumours from around the Premier League including updates on Manchester United, West Ham and Liverpool.

Premier League clubs have until the deadline on Monday 2nd February to complete any bits of incoming or outgoing business. With that in mind, Manchester United are ‘keen’ on a move for Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, according to a report by CaughtOffside. However, they face competition from the likes of Crystal Palace, Napoli and Atletico Madrid for his signature.

Gomes, 24, is facing an uncertain long-term future at Molineux. He is under contract in the Midlands until the summer of 2030 but is likely to leave if they get relegated to the Championship. The Brazil international, who has 10 caps to his name, moved over to England from Flamengo back in 2023 and is said to be valued around £44million right now.

The 3am Verdict: Joao Gomes would be a solid addition for Manchester United if they were able to lure him to Old Trafford. He would inject more quality into Michael Carrick’s starting XI. In addition, he would give the Red Devils some much needed competition and depth in the middle of the park.

West Ham target Paris FC star Ilan Kebbal

West Ham are interested in a swoop for Paris FC star Ilan Kebbal, reporter Alan Nixon has claimed on his Patreon page. The 27-year-old has been a key player for his current club since his move there in 2022. He joined on an initial loan deal that was later made permanent.

Kebbal has since helped the French outfit gain promotion to Ligue 1 and they could face a battle to keep hold of him now amid attention from the Hammers. The Algeria international has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season and has chipped in with six goals and five assists. His contract expires in 2028 meaning he still has a couple of years left to run down.

The 3am Verdict: West Ham need to ensure that they get their recruitment right this winter as they look to retain their Premier League status under Nuno Espirito Santo. Paris FC man Ilan Kebbal seems to have good numbers this season in Ligue 1 for a promoted club. If he joined the Hammers, he would offer them something different on the wing and some cover for key player Jarrod Bowen.

Liverpool could turn to Borrusia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck

Liverpool could turn to Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck as an alternative to Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, who is heading to Manchester City, as per the Liverpool Echo. The 26-year-old has never played outside of his native Germany. However, the Reds may try and bring him over to Merseyside over the coming weeks.

The Reds risk losing Ibrahima Konate at the end of his term when his contract expires. He is due to become a free agent in June and is yet to pen an extension. Therefore, they could do with bolstering their defensive department to ensure they have enough players as cover.

The 3am Verdict: Liverpool weren’t able to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace last summer which was frustrating and has now allowed Manchester City to swoop in. Nico Schlotterbeck has proved himself at Borussia Dortmund though and may now be ready to sink his teeth into a new challenge. If the Reds signed him, they would be taking a risk on someone who has never played in the Premier League before and patience would be required.
