Chelsea could open the door to a giant sale if the money offered is right.

Chelsea are said to be open to a blockbuster sale that would surprise most. The Blues have entered a new era under Liam Rosenior, and it has been a positive start for the new boss at Stamford Bridge.

Though, Rosenior did confirm after the game that his squad has been struggling with illness, and so he took plenty of encouragement that his side could battle through and win a game even when not being great value for the three points.

What will be interesting over the next couple of weeks is to see how Chelsea strengthen their squad, still working within the confines of Financial Fair Play. It looks as though a new centre-back will be the priority, while there is talk that an attacking midfielder could be sought if the right kind of deal comes up.

Exits could be key to pulling off those deals, and the likes of Axel Disasi, Raheem Sterling and David Datro Fofana are likely. Meanwhile, there is talk of a vital player leaving Chelsea in January, and according to TeamTalk, Enzo Fernandez could be made available to Real Madrid if they are willing to pay big bucks.

Chelsea signed Fernnadez for £106.8million, so they will want to make their money back, especially when selling a key starter, but Los Blancos have the means.

Reporter Dean Jones has claimed: “Real Madrid sources say the club have been given indications that Chelsea would be willing to sell Enzo Fernandez at the right price. The midfielder’s future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain beyond this season, and Madrid have been monitoring the situation closely.

“While some Chelsea players are considered untouchable, it is understood that the Argentina international is not entirely off-limits. Sources suggest that initial exploratory talks have hinted, via intermediaries, that Chelsea could become open to a summer deal if their valuation is met.

“The player joined Chelsea for £106.8million – so any transfer is going to become one of the most significant fees ever seen in La Liga.”

Rosenior impressed by Enzo

After the Brentford game, Rosenior expressed his satisfaction with the performance of Enzo in his midfield. He said: “So impressed. I knew what an outstanding player he was and I was actually at the World Cup final when he played. But it's not until you see a player up close and you get to know him and what he's about, and I have to say he's a winner. The reason he always plays is that he trains 100 per cent.

“I've enjoyed working with him and it's his birthday, so I told him to go to a steak house and enjoy some Argentinean steak. He is a magnificent player. More importantly, he's a fantastic character and I love having him in this team.”
