The Feyenoord star is finally expected to get his move away from the club, but it's not to the Premier League.
Arsenal, West Ham and Aston Villa are all set to lose the transfer race for Feyenoord talent Quinten Timber with the midfielder to complete a move away from Feyenoord after a fall out with the Dutch club.
The 24-year-old has made 24 appearances across all competitions so far this term but does not see eye to eye with Gunners legend Robin Van Persie. Timber came off the bench in the 4-3 defeat to Sparta Rotterdam at the weekend, picking up an assist, but slammed his boss after full time.
Timber said: “I think it’s a shame what the coach said, that it happened this way. It’s happened a few times now that the coach doesn’t protect the player.
Feyenoord star slams Robin Van Persie
“You can have an opinion, but say it to my face. This was the limit, Everyone at the club knows I give everything in the match, and I did that today. If I have to play at right back, I do it for my team. You can put any player in front of the camera, and they’ll say the same thing.
“It feels like a charade. It’s like I’m doing nothing. There’s a lot going on, a lot of emotion involved, including the fans who aren’t happy with me. That’s never fun.”
An exit from Feyenoord this month is now inevitable and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that the switch is set to be to Ligue 1 side Marseille, despite plenty of Premier League interest. Taking to social media platform X on Monday morning, Romano wrote: “Olympique Marseille are set to sign Quinten Timber from Feyenoord, here we go soon!
“Verbal agreement done with Timber on the salary and talks at final stages with Feyenoord on transfer fee. Final club to club details being sorted in next 24h as Timber wants #OM.”
