Dirk Nowitzki addressed rumors linking him to a potential general manager role with the Dallas Mavericks, making it clear that he is not interested in a front office position right now. Speaking in Berlin, the NBA legend explained that the GM job is too demanding and said he is happy in his current role as a TV analyst while staying connected to the game.
Dirk Nowitzki has finally addressed the rumors linking him with a possible front office role at the Dallas Mavericks, making his position clear during a media session in Berlin.

The German basketball legend was in the city last week as the NBA staged its first-ever regular-season game on German soil, with the Orlando Magic facing the Memphis Grizzlies.
While the historic matchup highlighted the NBA's growing presence in Europe, much of the attention around Nowitzki focused on his future and speculation about a potential return to the Mavericks organization as a general manager.
Nowitzki, who spent his entire NBA career with Dallas before retiring in 2019, explained that a move into management is not something he is considering right now.
"I do not think the GM role is for me right now. It is an extremely intense job, 24 hours a day, all year long," he said per Sports Illustrated.

The 47-year-old pointed out that while players and coaches get a break once the season ends, front office work never really stops.
Draft preparation, free agency, and trade deadlines make the job a constant grind, something he is not eager to take on at this stage of his life.
Nowitzki added that he is happy with his current role in basketball. This season, he has been working as a TV analyst for Prime Video, covering NBA games and sharing insight from his Hall of Fame career.
He admitted the transition from player to analyst required adjustment, as the game has changed since his retirement, but he is enjoying the challenge.
"The challenge is finding the right balance between criticism, analysis, and still celebrating the game. Since I retired, basketball has changed a lot. I had to dive back in, research teams and players again. But honestly, it is a lot of fun," Nowitzki concluded.
