Paul in Sky Blue Brown!
A sixth minute header from CCFPA member Paul Dyson gave City all the points ending the Reds’ nineteen match unbeaten run. Back in early September the Mighty Reds had handed the Sky Blues a football lesson thrashing them at Anfield by four clear goals. Revenge was sweet!
The Match of the Day cameras were at Highfield Road Coventry to see the Sky Blues win the midfield battle with Tommy ‘Hutch’, Andy Blair and Ray Gooding (Association members all) squeezing the life out of Graham Souness and co (who included future Sky Blue manager Phil Neal)!

We are pleased to say the Sky Blues manager Gordon Milne and the whole team that day are now current CCFPA members!
They were:-

At the end of the season Liverpool were champions by two points from Manchester United. The Sky Blues finished in fifteenth.
The relegated trio were (in descending order) Bristol City, Derby County and (bottom) Bolton Wanderers.
