Luka Doncic gives a concerning injury update on lingering groin issue

Luka Doncic addressed his lingering groin injury following the Lakers’ 110-93 win over the Raptors, admitting it may slightly affect his play but insisting he plans to play through it.

Luka Doncic played through pain in Sunday’s 110-93 victory over the Toronto Raptors, revealing that a lingering groin issue continues to affect him.

Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule

The Los Angeles Lakers have been hit hard by injuries, winning only 10 of their last 22 games. On Saturday, they were without Doncic, Austin Reaves, Deandre Ayton, and Jaxson Hayes in a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Sunday brought some relief as Ayton, Hayes, and Doncoc returned to the lineup.

After the win, during a post-game press conference, Doncic was candid about his condition, saying: "It's OK, not bad." He also addressed whether the injury will be an ongoing challenge: "Yeah, maybe a little bit. But obviously I’m gonna try to play through it."

Despite the discomfort, Doncic contributed on both ends, making 5 of 12 three-point attempts and showing his characteristic resilience.

Earlier in the week against the Charlotte Hornets, he shot 15-of-26 from the field and 6-of-11 from downtown, proving that he’s willing to push through injuries to help the team.

The Lakers now face a crucial eight-game road trip starting Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets.
