The 31-year-old is even open to a move abroad and has attracted interest from several overseas clubs. According to TeamTalk, Serie A clubs AC Milan, Napoli and Como have all held discussions, while Atletico Madrid have also made contact over a potential move to Spain.

There is also interest from Bayern Munich, where Vincent Kompany is understood to be open to the idea of bringing his former teammate to the Allianz Arena. That move would see him also link up with England captain Harry Kane.

Options outside Europe are also on the table, as clubs in Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer have registered their interest.

Closer to home, a number of Premier League sides are monitoring the situation. Everton, Stones’ former club, are among those open to a potential deal.

Sources close to the player say more than half a dozen English clubs have been in contact with his camp.

For now, Stones remains focused on finishing the season strongly with Manchester City and hopes to secure a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup.
