Liam Rosenior has opened up and revealed that he has been so impressed with midfielder Enzo Fernandez since becoming boss of Chelsea, amid all the transfer talk that the midfielder could be open for a move.
After a difficult start to his CHELSEA career, Fernandez assumed the captaincy following the appointment of Enzo Maresca and played a key role in leading the club to Conference League success and Champions League qualification last season.
The 24-year-old thrived under Maresca and was left disappointed by the club’s decision to part company with the Italian earlier this month following the breakdown in the relationship between the coach and board
That has led to some stunning reports in the media which have claimed that CHELSEA may actually be open to the idea of letting Fernandez leave, and the midfielder may be open to letting the club allow him to leave.
But the 25-year-old has featured in each of Rosenior’s three matches in charge, twice from the start and once from the substitutes’ bench, and registered a goal and two assists.
And after the victory against Brentford at the weekend, Rosenior was asked how he had found working alongside our No.8. The Blues head coach replied: ‘So impressed. I knew what an outstanding player he was and I was actually at the World Cup final when he played.
‘But it’s not until you see a player up close and you get to know him and what he’s about, and I have to say he’s a winner. The reason he always plays is that he trains 100 per cent.
‘I’ve enjoyed working with him and it’s his birthday, so I told him to go to a steak house and enjoy some Argentinean steak. He is a magnificent player. More importantly, he’s a fantastic character and I love having him in this team.’

The rumours linking Fernandez with a move away has come as a shock, he seems happy enough and Rosenior seems happy to keep hold. But Enzo wants to win trophies and if the new coach cant deliver that, then a move away could happen in the future.
