Supercomputer predicts Chelsea and Manchester United
Supercomputer predicts Chelsea and Manchester United's final PL position
A supercomputer has predicted the final position of Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier League standings this season. It has backed both clubs to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Manchester United finished 15th last season, while Chelsea finished fourth. Both sides have seen their manager depart earlier this month. The Blues replaced Enzo Maresca with Liam Rosenior. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have appointed Michael Carrick as their interim manager for the rest of the season after sacking Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United are currently fifth in the Premier League standings, while Chelsea are one point behind them in sixth. As per a supercomputer from Betting Lounge (via The Sun), both clubs are predicted to finish fourth and fifth, respectively. This would earn them qualification for the Champions League next season.
As per the supercomputer, Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season, having finished second in the last three campaigns. Manchester City are predicted to finish second, seven points behind them, with Aston Villa in third place. Liverpool are predicted to finish seventh, having won the title last season.
Meanwhile, the supercomputer has predicted West Ham United, Burnley, and Wolverhampton Wanderers to get relegated.
Chelsea legend lauded Manchester United star after Manchester derby
Manchester United beat city rivals Manchester City 2-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday, January 17. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for them in the 65th minute, before Patrick Dorgu doubled their lead in the 76th. The Red Devils had the ball in the net three more times, but they were chalked off for offside.
After the game, Chelsea legend John Terry lauded compatriot Harry Maguire's performance, saying:
"Wow, what a performance for Man U. The game's still not done. Just gone 2 nil. This is the Man United of old. Attacking free flowing football, pace up front. Also, Maguire is such a better team with Harry Maguire back in the squad today, back playing. I'm not sure there's a more difficult game to come into Manchester Derby, playing against the best striker in the world in Haaland."
"He's just so good in both boxes and so good on the ball as well. See him about 10 minutes ago, drive out of the ball, so comfortable with it. On this form, Harry Maguire has to be on the plane for the World Cup. You heard it here first," he added.
Maguire won 3/5 duels, made five clearances and five recoveries, helping Manchester United keep the clean sheet.
