Omar Marmoush has travelled with the Manchester City squad for Tuesday's Champions League group phase match at Bodo/Glimt.
The forward has returned from Africa Cup of Nations duty with Egypt, where the side finished fourth in the tournament.
Marmoush's return is much-needed for City, with star striker Erling Haaland looking like he could do with a short rest having netted just once in his last seven games.
Academy forward Tyrone Samba, 17, son of former Blackburn and QPR defender Chris, has also been included in the 21-player travelling party.
Full-back Matheus Nunes missed Saturday's derby loss against Manchester United because of flu and continues to recover at home. The club are hopeful the Portuguese will be in contention to make a return against his former club Wolves on Saturday.
