Tickets are now sold out for Liverpool's away Champions League fixture against Olympique Marseille on Wednesday (January 21).

For any supporters with a ticket to this fixture, the club would like to remind you of the important safety measures that have been advised by the local authorities in Marseille for the visit.

We are aware that the fan experience at some European away fixtures is incomparable to the experience supporters are used to at domestic away games or indeed how visiting European fans experience Anfield.

In the meantime, we will continue to hold pre- and post-match engagement meetings with relevant stakeholders and members of Spirit of Shankly and the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association around our European away matches, as we did before this fixture.

Please follow the advice below from the local authorities when travelling to Marseille.

Accommodation

Supporters are strongly advised to book accommodation near to the fan meeting point on Place de la Joliette.

The LFC Help centre will be at La Coque, Place Basse, Pl. Henri Verneuil, 13002 Marseille, a five- to seven-minute walk from the fan meeting point.

The LFC Help Centre will be open from 10am until 4pm local time on matchday.

LFC staff will be able to assist with any queries around tickets and matchday travel. There is no ticket collection in operation for this fixture. All tickets are digital.

The building is fully accessible and has accessible toilets on site.

Matchday in Marseille

The day before the match, Liverpool supporters can visit the area of the Old Port (Vieux Port) but must not wear anything that will identify themselves as LFC fans or congregate in large groups.

Supporters should not hang flags or any items of club colours in the city of Marseille at any time.

Supporters must not visit the Old Port (Vieux Port) area on matchday.

Anybody without a valid match ticket should not travel to Marseille.

Travel to the stadium

The only way fans can get to the stadium is via mandatory Metro travel via Joliette Station near the fan meeting point.

Supporters must be in this location by 4.30pm local time on matchday.

The police will direct supporters in groups of approximately 500 from the meeting point area to the Metro station.

Supporters will be asked to show their matchday ticket prior to accessing the Metro station. This is also your ticket to travel to the stadium – no separate Metro ticket is required.

The journey will take around 15 minutes; supporters will then be directed to the stadium via a secure route that takes five minutes.

Any supporter arriving at the stadium by other means will not be permitted access.

Wheelchair users will be contacted directly following their ticket purchase and will be advised on how to access the stadium.

Inside the stadium

Supporters will enter via gate 20 at Orange Velodrome.

Tickets for this match are digital and LFC ticketing staff and stewards will be in this location should any fans require support.

All supporters will be searched, followed by a ticket scan at the turnstiles.

LFC supporters will be located over three levels. Supporters must access the correct level and block as indicated on their ticket to ensure there is no overcrowding. LFC stewards will be situated in this area to provide guidance to supporters.

Alcohol will be available inside the stadium and supporters will be permitted to drink in the bowl.

Permitted and prohibited items

Bags of 25cm x 25cm (9.8in x 9.8in) and smaller will be permitted in the stadium and will be searched on entry. This is slightly larger than A5 but smaller than A4.

There is no bag storage facility at the stadium. Please make alternative arrangements for larger bags.

Phone chargers and battery packs are permitted but must be smaller than a mobile phone.

Flag policy: Flags and banners should have already been submitted to the LFC SLO.

Flags must have a fire safety certificate and must not have any offensive, political or discriminatory words or images on them. Any approved flags or banners will be checked on entry.

Leaving the stadium

Police have advised the visiting supporters will be held back inside the stadium after the final whistle.

During the hold, supporters must remain in the seating area other than to use the toilet or kiosks, which will remain open.

After a period of approximately 40 minutes, supporters will be released in groups of 500. LFC stewards will assist with this process and supporters are requested to remain seated until called forward by the stewards.

Supporters will be escorted back to the Metro station and placed on Metros back to Place de la Joliette.

It is anticipated this process could take up to two hours to complete.

All supporters must travel back to Place de la Joliette, there will be no stops on the Metro journey and supporters will not be allowed to leave the stadium by other means.
