FC Barcelona and Girona have reached a full verbal agreement over a loan deal for captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Fabrizio Romano confirms.
The Italian transfer expert has given his trademark ‘Here we go’ seal to the transfer, with the move expected to be completed in the coming days.
With Joan Garcia arriving in the summer, Ter Stegen fell down the pecking order under Hansi Flick. His back surgery in the summer meant he missed four months of action, and Wojciech Szczesny was established as the second choice.

The German international did make one appearance upon his return post-surgery in December, featuring in the cup tie against Guadalajara.
However, it was made clear to him that he would not get minutes moving forward in the rest of the season.
Given that it would jeopardise his place in the Germany lineup for the World Cup, Ter Stegen decided to leave on loan and gave the green light to a move to Girona last week.
Now, with the two clubs reaching an agreement over the details of the loan deal, the final details and paperwork will be completed over the week before he moves to Estadi Montilivi until the end of the season.
