Manchester United are believed to have Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner at the top of their wish list for the summer, according to presenter Richard Keys.
The Red Devils have started a new era under Michael Carrick, who began his spell as interim boss with a phenomenal victory over Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday. As it stands, Carrick is only going to be in temporary charge of United until the end of the season, meaning they need to find themselves a permanent manager.
There's still a chance that Carrick stays on beyond the end of the current season, but United will be putting plans in place in case things don't quite work out. One manager who is certainly going to be without a club is Crystal Palace boss Glasner, after his comments at the weekend.
Glasner Top of Man Utd's Managerial List

According to presenter Keys, Manchester United have Crystal Palace boss Glasner, who is set to leave the club following the expiration of his contract, at the top of their shortlist for the summer. Speaking on his blog, Keys said...
"If I’m Glasner I want out now. I’m told he’s top of United’s wish list, so why stay at Palace and run the risk of reputational damage if the second half of the season falls apart? Go - and wait. If it’s not United he’ll get a good one."
In a bombshell press conference at the weekend ahead of Palace's game against Sunderland, Glasner confirmed that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season. The Austrian manager is out of contract, and he's now revealed that he won't be extending his stay at Selhurst Park.
"My decision has already been taken months ago. I had a meeting [with chairman Steve Parish] in the October international break, we had dinner and a very long talk and I told him I would not sign a new contract for Crystal Palace."
This leaves the door open for a club like Manchester United to swoop in and secure his signature ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
Glasner Appointment a Risk for Man Utd
Oliver Glasner
Although Glasner, described as being 'better than Mikel Arteta' by Jamie O'Hara, has amassed plenty of pedigree during his career, what he's achieved with Crystal Palace recently has been down to a specific style, which might not be welcomed by United supporters. The Eagles have one of the lowest possession percentages in the Premier League, hitting teams on the counter-attack rather than dominating games.
There's no doubt, United supporters will prioritise success over style of play, but when things are going wrong at times, it will be a stick to beat Glasner with. Many fans showed their frustration with Ruben Amorim's three-at-the-back system, but that's also a formation likely to be implemented by Glasner if he arrives.
