Arsenal reach defender agreement–Gunners make formal offer for Frenchman–Spaniard free to join Arsenal

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Franco Mastantuono, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Oleksandr Zinchenko that you may have missed…

There have been some transfer rumours in the media which have claimed that Arsenal will now be able to possibly land one of the clubs long-term targets as Real Madrid are reportedly ready to let Franco Mastantuono leave the club at the end of the season.

According to Fichajes, Madrid might be prepared to listen to offers for Franco Mastantuono despite the Argentine youngster only arriving at the Estadio Bernabeu in August 2025. He was seen as one for the future and joined the club in a €45 million deal from River Plate

However – reports have claimed that he has been unable to settle into life in Madrid, has been unable to put in the kind of performances that prompted the Spaniards to make an offer, and is a player the club are open to letting leave.

ARSENAL were one of the clubs also eyeing Mastantuono before he chose Madrid and the Gunners remain admirers of the 18-year-old. It’s claimed that the Premier League giants might try testing the waters with a huge offer.

The Gunners like to add the best young players to their academy and hopefully try to turn them into big stars, of sell them on for far more money than was spent in the transfer window.

The Gunners wanted the young man before he moved to Madrid, ARSENAL were hoping that they could have convinced the lad to make the move to London, but he opted for Madrid and it seemingly has not worked out.

He was probably too young to come to Europe, and that is why he is struggled to adapt to life in Madrid. Coming to Arsenal could be the answer for the lad as he will be given the time and support he needs to really develop into a big named star

But it would be a shock to see him arrive at the Emirates, the Gunners now have targets that they are more interested in signing

ARSENAL MAKE BOUADDI APPROACH

Arsenal have made a formal approach to sign talented young Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France this week

ARSENAL may have one of the best squads in the Premier League right now, but boss Mikel Arteta is constantly looking for ways to keep the squad fresh, hungry and competing at the very highest level that they can.

And that has led to reports in the media which have claimed the Gunners have identified Bouaddi as a transfer target and RMC Sport say they have now moved to explore an agreement for the 18-year-old.

PSG want to keep the biggest young talents in France in Ligue 1 but Arsenal have made an approach for Bouaddi in a bid to move ahead of their rivals in the race to sigh him. The news comes after Bouaddi admitted that he will decide his future in the summer.

Bouaddi recently said: “I have extended until 2029 and next year is still far away. “I am focused on this season and we have things to fight for.

“As I also said to the president (Olivier Letang), at the end of the season, there will be a choice to be made, and anything can happen. We don’t know what will happen.”

For such a young man to move abroad would be a massive decision to make, especially as he is developing very nicely in Ligue i and with his current club. But the opportunity to join Arsenal would be hard to turn down.

If he was to move abroad, ARSENAL would give him the opportunity to develop and impress in that first team, they dont just let young signings go to waste and get lost in the system, they actually present opportunities.

However – staying in France for now is the best option, he does not need to move away from Lille or even his homeland, he is very young.

ZINCHENKO AGREEMENT REACHED

Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle to send Oleksandr Zinchenko on loan to Ajax for the remainder of the season, after his loan deal with Nottingham Forest was cut short

Zinchenko has been with Nottingham Forest for the first half of the campaign having fallen out of favour under Mikel Arteta at ARSENAL , but the 29-year-old has made just ten appearances in all competitions for Forest, struggling to make a significant impact at the City Ground – not helped by the club’s managerial merry-go-round this term.

According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Zinchenko has likely played for Forest for the last time, with Ajax striking a six-month loan deal for the Ukrainian, ‘subject to a few details’.

It’s claimed Ajax’s hierarchy have been in direct contact with Zinchenko’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs.

In recent weeks, Neco Williams has established himself as Forest’s first-choice left-back, despite being naturally right-footed, and Sean Dyche appeared to pave the way for Zinchenko’s departure when facing the media on Thursday.

‘We’ve spoken to the player, made him clear on his situation. He’s aware of that so we’ll see what happens,’ the Forest manager told reporters.

‘He’s played a couple of games, but hasn’t featured in others. He’s been injured. That hasn’t been helpful to him or to us. I’ve just been open with him, really. It’s like I say, I’m open with all players.

‘But I think when you’ve done as much as he has in the game, it’s more of a conversation. Not demanding anything other than just telling him the truth, as I see it. And that’s how much he can figure out, how much game-time he’s going to get at this time.’

IcFootballnews Says…

Zinchencho needed this move, that switch to Nottingham Forest was not working out and leaving the Premier League for the Dutch League is a great decision. And if he performs well, maybe he will get a permanent switch to Ajax.
