Jalen Williams injury update: Earliest possible return date revealed

Jalen Williams will miss at least two weeks with a hamstring injury and, in a best-case scenario, is expected to return no earlier than February 3.

Oklahoma City Thunder wing Jalen Williams will be re-evaluated in two weeks due to a right hamstring strain, according to Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman.

Hamstring injuries can linger if not managed carefully, so Williams is expected to miss some time.

Based on the re-evaluation timeline, his earliest possible return would be February 3 against the Orlando Magic.

"I always feel bad for guys," coach Mark Daigneault said. "This is their life, and they put so much work into it. In his case, he put so much work into getting back on the court. ... It sucks, but you've got to play the ball where it is.

"That's what he's going to do. He's going to put one foot in front of the other and attack the return to play, as he's always done."

While Williams is sidelined, Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Alex Caruso, and Kenrich Williams could see increased roles for the Thunder.

Williams suffered the injury during Oklahoma City's loss to the Miami Heat, which ended the defending champions' five-game winning streak.

This season, Williams is averaging 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.
