But the voting totals favored Steph Curry.
That was one of the main notable points out of the NBA's All-Star Game starting lineup announcements on Monday.
The Western Conference voting resulted in these five starters:
Stephen Curry
Luka Doncic
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Nikola Jokic
Victor Wembanyama

On the season, Edwards is scoring two points more per game than Curry while shooting better from the floor and from beyond the arc while playing for a team with a better record.
Left is an All-Star starter. Right isn't.

Technically, Edwards missed the lineup closest to Wemby, who took the final spot on a tiebreaker involving fan voting.

Jon Krawczynski, the Timberwolves beat writer for The Athletic, added this on X:
"Really am incredibly surprised Anthony Edwards did not make it. He's been out of this world this season: playing point guard, shooting 72 percent in the clutch, being more consistent on defense. He's taken another leap in Year 6, and a big one at that."
Edwards will just have to use this snub as fuel. Seems like the kind of thing he'll do gladly to continue getting better and showing the NBA how good he is and still can be.
