After leading the conference in both fan voting returns, the Milwaukee Bucks‘ Giannis Antetokounmpo easily secured his 10th All-Star appearance for the 2025-26 festivities by being named to the honorary starting lineup in the East.
This season, of course, there is no East versus West format, and the above players will not even be on Giannis’ team. Instead, the NBA has opted for a round-robin tournament featuring two American teams and one international squad. Giannis will participate among the internationals representing Greece.
The NBA has also eliminated positional considerations, even in the “honorary” starting lineups, which are composed of the top five vote-getters regardless of position.
Nonetheless, the league has kept the standard conference-vs-conference starting fives intact in nominal form, with those players getting guaranteed spots on either an American or international 12-man roster. Here’s a look at Giannis’ “teammates” based on voting results in the East.
