Milwaukee Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo officially named to 10th consecutive NBA All-Star Game

The Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been one of the bigger stories in the NBA for much of the season. However, this is largely due to the fact that many national media members have been concocting trade rumors and scenarios involving Giannis since before the season began. That being said, the Greek Freak, who has spent his entire career thus far with the Bucks, recently reiterated his desire to remain in Milwaukee.

And so, for now, Giannis is continuing to try and add to his legacy in Milwaukee. As the Bucks are currently battling the Atlanta Hawks on Monday afternoon, some news dropped that only adds to his already impressive legend.

On Monday, January 19, the NBA announced the players who had been voted as starters for the All-Star Game. Unsurprisingly, Giannis was one of the five Eastern Conference starters. It is his 10th consecutive NBA All-Star selection:

That is both his 10th straight selection and start. Both are the longest active streaks in the NBA. https://t.co/PoXG14q5eE

As Eric Nehm notes above, this is the 10th year in a row that Giannis has not only been named an All-Star, but also the 10th consecutive season in which he was named a starter.

For the first time in 21 years, Los Angeles Lakers star and NBA all-time leading scorer LeBron James was not voted in as a starter. This development means that Giannis’ 10 straight years starting is the longest current stretch in the NBA.

In addition to the Greek Freak, the other Eastern Conference All-Star starters are Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Cade Cunningham (Detroit Pistons), and Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers).

The Western Conference All-Star starters are Luka Doncic (Los Angeles Lakers), Shai Gilgeious-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Steph Curry (Golden State Warriors), Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs), and Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets).
