Manchester United eventually found a way past Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma in the derby and the next challenge will be beating Arsenal shot-stopper David Raya.
If it wasn’t for Gianluigi Donnarumma’s brilliance, Manchester United should have won by more in the derby over the weekend.
United won 2-0 against City with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu, but the Red Devils also had three goals disallowed and several huge chances saved by Donnarumma.

United were linked with Donnarumma in the summer but instead chose to sign Senne Lammens. Ineos will be pleased with their decision following the Belgian’s brilliant start at Old Trafford.
Up next for Michael Carrick’s side is a trip to Premier League leaders Arsenal, and once again, United’s forwards will have to find a way past a world-class keeper in the shape of David Raya.

United completely dominated City from the first minute at Old Trafford. City only managed one shot on target, while the Red Devils had seven attempts on Donnarumma’s goal – and that doesn’t include the three disallowed goals.

As per Opta, Donnarumma had made five saves by the hour mark of Saturday’s derby, which is already the most he made in a single Premier League match.
Thankfully, United eventually found a way past the Italian.

In the first game of the season, United lost 1-0 to Arsenal but dominated the match at Old Trafford.
Raya made seven saves against United, which is still the most he has been forced to make in a single game.
Arsenal and City have the best defensive records in the Premier League, so it is a huge compliment to United that they have been the biggest threat to Donnarumma and Raya this season.
Arsenal will be wary of Man United’s attacking threat
United currently have the third-best attacking record in the Premier League based on goals scored.
The Red Devils have scored 38 goals in 22 games – a figure only beaten by Arsenal and City.
Next Sunday, United’s attack will come up against the league’s best defence, and supporters will have bitter memories of Raya’s performance at Old Trafford.
