Two NBA players voted for Bronny James to start the 2026 All-Star Game, despite the 21-year-old averaging just 1.5 points and 1.1 assists this season.
The starters for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles have been officially announced.
Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule
The 41-year-old legend LeBron James missed out on a starting spot, ending his record streak of 21 consecutive All-Star starts. He was not, however, the only member of the James family to receive votes.
According to AP's Tim Reynolds, two NBA players even voted for LeBron's son, Bronny James, to start the game.
This season, the 21-year-old guard is averaging 1.5 points and 1.1 assists in 24 appearances, playing roughly 6.9 minutes per game. He has split his time between the Los Angeles Lakers and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.
In another unusual voting outcome, four players cast votes for Detroit Pistons forward Isaac Jones, who has scored just five points this season.
The All-Star starters were chosen through a combination of fan votes (50%), media votes (25%), and player votes (25%).
Head coaches will select seven reserves from each conference, regardless of position, to complete the 24-player roster.
This year, the game will feature a U.S. vs. World format.
