Jamie Carragher has offered a possible fix to Arne Slot on Monday Night Football — it beggars belief.
Among the many topics to discuss after a busy weekend of Premier League action was Liverpool’s ongoing struggles.
Slot has frustrated Liverpool fans in recent weeks. The Reds are unbeaten but the brand of football, and more importantly, the results, just aren’t where they need to be.

Jamie Carragher says Mo Salah could be the fix for Arne Slot
The former Liverpool defender’s stance on Mohamed Salah seems to change with the wind.
Carragher has questioned Salah’s attitude time and again, especially during last month’s debacle, but absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Analysing Liverpool’s recent displays on Sky Sports MNF, he says: “The balance was not right at the start of the season. It was too much in the attacking sense and Liverpool were leaving themselves open at the back. Arne Slot has stopped that. He has stopped the defeats.

“The balance has almost gone far too one way, where the energy and pace isn’t there. He’s done that to stop the end to end games, to make the team stronger defensively.
“That’s the conundrum for everybody, getting the balance right between attack and defence, and he hasn’t got that right this season. Maybe Mohamed Salah will change it when he’s back.”
After being one of the most vocal critics of Salah before AFCON, Carragher now thinks he could be the missing piece. It’s not that he’s wrong — an in-form Salah would be huge in games like the Burnley one — but it’s just surprising to hear it from the pundit.
He seemed to have washed his hands of the situation with the Liverpool superstar. The context has changed, to be fair.
Liverpool’s best attack with Salah back
The next challenge for Slot is to find his best attacking lineup for these huge Champions League games we have coming up.
It will be interesting to see how Salah can play with Jeremie Frimpong, who certainly deserves to keep his spot in the team. It makes sense for the Egyptian to move a bit more centrally, almost forming a strike partnership with Hugo Ekitike.
What’s Liverpool’s best front three now that Salah’s back?

Florian Wirtz has to be involved, too. It’s whether Slot puts him on the left with Kerkez or in the Liverpool midfield.
Plenty of tough calls, and plenty of minutes to go around, but we still need an established strongest front line.
