Chelsea risk opening the door for other clubs to sign their key target this month.
It seems Chelsea still have work to do if they want to sign their primary transfer target this month. The Blues are now expected to hand new boss Liam Rosenior a key signing before the deadline comes around, with a centre-back arrival in the offing.
Chelsea ignored Enzo Maresca’s warning that a centre-back would be required following Levi Colwill’s injury late in the summer, but after allowing that disagreement to rot their relationship with Maresca, they now appear willing to accept that the Italian was right.
