Manchester United and Wolves have Barcelona’s Marc Casadó on their transfer agenda.
That’s according to Tuesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, and they cover the latest on interest from Manchester United and elsewhere.
The report mainly focuses on Atlético Madrid’s desire to sign the Barcelona player in the winter market. Diego Simeone’s side are in the market for a midfielder following Conor Gallagher’s €40m move to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month. The Spain international has emerged as one of their targets.
Casadó was a target for Simeone last summer, when he also received other offers. West Ham United and Wolves were linked. He rejected them because Hansi Flick shared his faith in him.
The midfielder has played 871 minutes from 19 matches this season. He hasn’t made an appearance for close to a month and may change clubs this month.
Marca first reported the Madrid club’s interest in the 22-year-old, and Mundo pick up on that and provide their own updates.
Atlético sporting director Mateu Alemany knows the player well from his time at the Camp Nou. He hasn’t forgotten about Casadó, but the newspaper claim Barca haven’t received an offer yet.
Casadó’s agent Jorge Mendes is aware of Los Rojiblancos’ interest in his client. The super-agent also manages Wolves midfielder João Gomes, who is another January target for Atlético, along with Atalanta’s Éderson.
Both Gomes and Éderson would command a much higher price than the Barcelona player.

Manchester United have initiated contact to enquire about the Spaniard while Wolves continue to follow him.
If Casadó were to leave Barcelona, his preference is to move abroad. However, Mundo explain he wouldn’t snub a move to Atlético if that was the option available to him.
Therefore, Manchester United and Wolves have to step up quickly if they wish to secure his services in January.
The possibility of using the Premier League clubs to put pressure on Atlético can’t be ruled out.
