According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Butler suffered a season-ending torn right ACL.
He exited the game with 7:41 left in the third quarter during Monday’s matchup against the Miami Heat. Butler landed awkwardly after catching a pass, went down, and clutched his right knee in pain.
The star forward was immediately escorted off the court as Warriors fans held their breath inside Chase Center.
Before leaving the game, Butler had tallied 17 points, four assists, three rebounds, and two steals in 21 minutes.
In 38 appearances this season, he averaged 20 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game.
Meanwhile, following their latest win over the Heat, the Warriors sit eighth in the Western Conference with a 25-19 record.
